In the tradition of multi-genre classic dance albums of the past (eg Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx) Southlight’s debut reflects their eclectic influences, writing and production skills - from house and disco to techno and electronica.

After releasing singles for 5 years on various record labels, Southlight decided to create a full album - a body of work that best sums up the creative vision of the two Tasmanian-based producers. A vision of beautifully crafted beats that energises and engages clubbers and listeners alike.

The opening track “I’m Feeling” makes a brassy bold statement and sets the scene for a genre-blending album. Other stand-out tracks include:

>a cover version of the Al Green classic, “Love & Happiness” featuring Red London (aka Australia’s Reigan Derry)

> the critically acclaimed “You + I” - with an outstanding vocal performance from Nathan Mahon

>the moody, tech house floor-filler “Dance boy”, and

>the Balearic, synth laden “Outrunning”

Southlight’s relocation from inner city Sydney to Tasmania’s Huon Valley has provided them with the creative inspiration and space to focus on their craft and produce a first class debut album.
